Safe Haven offers a free child abuse prevention program for schools and children’s groups (Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4H clubs, after school groups, youth groups, etc.) The Healthy Relationships Project is a developmentally targeted, trauma-informed healthy sexuality and abuse prevention program for pre-school and school communities. The Program focuses on building children’s healthy relationship skills through a series of six lessons for PreK – 8th grade. The curriculum teaches children protective factors such as self-esteem, identifying and expressing emotions, anatomically correct terms for body parts, healthy boundaries, and healthy touch.
The curriculum is broken down into 3 age appropriate sections.
CARE FOR KIDS (PreK-2)
WE CARE ELEMENTARY (3-6)
Also contains trainings for staff & teachers on recognizing and responding to child abuse.
